Volunteer Your Time

Archbishop Hannan High School welcomes any parent or alumni that would like to donate their time to the school. It is through the generous participation of many volunteers that we are able to facilitate the fundraising events we do, coach the teams we have, offer guidance and professional support to the administration, and host the countless events that revolve around our students and staff.

Every year brings new families and alumni that want to be involved in the school, but are unsure of how to get started. Review the list of opportunities available and complete the on-line application indicating any area(s) you are interested in. Your contact information will be forwarded to the appropriate committee and he or she will contact you to get you started.

Volunteering at Archbishop Hannan is also beneficial to you. It provides opportunities for parents to meet other parents and to share insights into the lives of your children and their classmates. The active involvement of our parents in the life of the school also demonstrates their interest in – and commitment to – the daily lives of our students.

Volunteering provides excellent opportunities for both parents and alumni to expand their professional and personal networks. As volunteers at Archbishop Hannan, parents and alumni also get to really know our community, understand how we carry out our mission, and develop relationships with our faculty and administrators.

There are countless opportunities for Archbishop Hannan families and alumni to be involved as volunteers at the school and in the Archbishop Hannan community. Your active involvement in the life of Archbishop Hannan enriches our community and our students’ Catholic School educational experience. Please consider volunteering a few hours a week!

Volunteer Opportunities

Archbishop Hannan PTSO: The PTSO is responsible for planning many of the receptions for our students and faculty, hosting a number of student events and assisting the Administration with recruitment events. Volunteers are needed throughout the year and your involvement can range from sending in food when requested, being a server at an event, chairing one of the events, or helping organize one of the many fundraisers (Golf Tournament, Gala etc.).
Talon Club: All parents/guardians of an Archbishop Hannan High School student are members of the Talon Club regardless of whether their child competes in an athletic team. The Talon Club subsidizes a number of our athletic program’s needs. Volunteers are needed to staff concessions and gate sales.
Library Assistant: Our library/Media Center is always looking for parents/guardians willing to volunteer as a Library Assistant. Your presence would allow the librarian to attend meetings, have lunch or teach class without having to close the library. Shifts generally run three hours and are available throughout the day. Administrative Help: Our teachers and administrative staff greatly appreciate having our ‘Go To’ list of volunteers that can help from time to time with typing and phone duties, when special projects/mailings come up or extended absences occur. Your help is appreciated either on an ‘as need’ basis, or can be a more regular commitment of once a week or once a month.

Data Entry: The Development and Alumni offices are in need of computer literate individuals that can assist with data entry in their office and commit time on a regular basis. With the many events that the school undertakes each year, organized individuals that enjoy planning and tending to details are greatly needed.
Grant Writing: Even in these economic times, there are many opportunities for schools to receive free money from foundations and resources through grants. Archbishop Hannan is in need of individuals that have experience in grant writing to research and complete applications so that we have the opportunity to compete for these grants.

Professional Services: Archbishop Hannan High School is like any other business that relies on the services of professionals and suppliers to run our school and maintain our campus. These costs are a significant part of our student’s tuition and budget. We greatly appreciate any offer of service of your donated time or services at reduced costs.
