Please click here to download the Summer Math Skill Sharpener Assignment Packet.  New Hannan students must purchase their Summer Math Skills books directly from the supplier.  Ordering information is included on page one of the assignment packet.  Current Archbishop Hannan High School students have been given summer math workbooks.  Their assignments are also included in the summer math skill sharpener assignment packet.

All summer math work should be completed and will be due on the first day of school, which is August 9th for 8th and 9th graders and August 12th for 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.  Students will take an assessment on the material covered in the summer math workbooks.

Summer reading is required of all Hannan students.  Click here for an introduction to the program.  Please consult the book list below that corresponds with your English placement for next year.

THEOLOGY

A summer reading book is required for all students in grades 9 through 12.

Title:  Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust

 by Immaculee Ilibagiza and Steve Erwin

(This book may be ordered online or found at any local bookstore)

Students will need to complete over the summer 4 out of the 10 questions from each part of the attached study guide.

Students may choose any 4 questions from each of the 3 parts of the study guide (students will answer a total of 12 questions-

4 questions from each of the 3 parts- the answers to these questions may be handwritten or typed).

Upon returning to school these 12 questions will be turned in to their theology teacher for a quiz grade.

Additionally, students will be assessed on this book by completing a project that will be assigned by their theology teacher.

This project will count for 1 test grade.

Please note that there is mandatory parent and player meeting on Thursday, May 30th at 5:45 PM in the Gymnasium.

Mr. Anger is in his second year of teaching at Archbishop Hannan High School and his sixteenth year of teaching overall.  His current classes include AP US History, Civics, Civics Honors, Law Studies, and Contemporary Issues.  In addition to his work inside of the classroom, he also interacts with students as the moderator of Mock Trial.

His favorite memory of Hannan so far is traveling to Disney and Universal this year with the senior class for Grad Bash.  When asked what he enjoys most about teaching at Hannan, Anger responded, “I think that our students are great.  I also really enjoy working with the other teachers at AHHS.”  These feelings are clearly reciprocated by both his students and his co-workers.

Describing her experience in Mr. Anger’s class, senior Rebecca Sigler said, “Mr. Anger is a teacher that radiates a love for his subject matter and a love for his students.  Every student that is blessed enough to walk into his classroom leaves with more knowledge and a deeper love for learning.”

“Working with Mr. Anger is quite a unique experience.  While you never know what you are going to get, it’s always inspirational and optimistic.  From his ‘Poncho Fridays’ to his energetic ‘All Day, Every Day’, Mr. Anger always expresses enthusiasm and a true passion for what he does,” stated Mrs. Brouillette.

The Teacher of the Year award was announced during the recent Academic Awards Assembly.  Father Charles and Dr. H presented Mr. Anger with a certificate to recognize his accomplishment. Congratulations to Mr. Anger for this honor!
