Archbishop Hannan High School is a Catholic, coeducational school serving students in grades 8 – 12 located in Covington, Louisiana. The school offers a traditional college preparatory program where academic excellence, a solid faith formation and character development are emphasized throughout every facet of school life. Students prepare for the rigors of higher education through a college preparatory curriculum designed to meet the specific National Standards for each subject, but also emphasizing the more demanding knowledge and skill level required for success on the SAT, and ACT college entrance exams.

  • Academic Course Load: Each student assumes an annual course load of eight academic courses.
  • Student-Teacher Ratio: With a 1:20 teacher-student ratio our faculty knows each of their student’s strengths and potential.

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Courses: Students prepared and able to engage certain subjects at a more demanding level and pace may register for Advanced Placement courses. In the spring each year, students enrolled in any AP class take the national exam for potential college credit. Students in AP courses earn accelerated grade points higher than the standard college preparatory classes.
  • Accreditation: Archbishop Hannan High School is accredited by the Louisiana Department of Education and by the Southern Association of  Colleges and Secondary Schools. Archbishop Hannan High School is a member of the National Catholic Education Association, the College Board, and the National Association for College Admission Counseling. Archbishop Hannan complies with the NACAC Statement of Principles of Good Practice.
  • College Acceptance: 98% of all graduates are accepted to a four-year college of their choice.
