The National Honor Society recently got in the Christmas spirit of giving by helping out many people in need. From December 10th-14th, members brought in items to be donated to the Battered Women’s Shelter. They collected toiletries, winter clothes and accessories, baby items, and many other necessities for the women in the shelter. Then, on December 15th, seven National Honor Society members spent the morning at the Red Cross to volunteer with Project Christmas. Kyle Sewald, Steven Saucier, Emily Bouffine, Rebecca Sigler, Emily Marcotte, Rebekah Day, and Julianne Hogan, accompanied by Ms. Puntila and Mrs. Jill, worked with Project Christmas volunteers to load cars with toys, bikes, and food. This year, Project Christmas aided approximately 115 families, which includes about 350 children. The National Honor Society members enjoyed knowing that they were making a difference for others’ Christmas mornings. Volunteer Julianne Hogan expressed, “It feels good to help out, and to know that we are helping these families enjoy their Christmas.”
